Swim Workout: Threshold 5

We are entering the final week of Critical Pace training before repeating the Fitness Assessments next week to evaluate the improvements we’ve made.  We will start the week off with the all important threshold intervals, with the goal again for you to gain a better feel for that effort level.  Feel free to post any questions you may have in the comments section or take a look at the FAQ & Glossary page for a in-depth explanation of how your Critical Pace will be used in this and all of the other workouts during the Critical Pace Training Phase of the program.

After you have completed the workout please stop back and comment on how it went for you.

Had a really good swim this morning. Workout for me called for 6 x 400 at Critical Pace which is 1:13 so I was shooting for a 4:52. Intervals splits came up a bit short of that with 4:54-4:56 however they were all really consistent has not been the norm lately. For me in a workout like this I can be satisfied with being slightly off pace if the splits are at least consistent. Hope your workout went well too as we enter this final week of training before the fitness assessments again next week.
